The Texas Education Agency has rated all school districts and their individual campuses based on two categories: “Met Standard” or “Improvement Required”. See how your district ranked or check out desirable school districts to move into if you're buying or selling. I can narrow down the search for you if you're basing your search on school districts. HOW THE RATINGS ARE DETERMINED

MET STANDARD: District or campus met performance index targets on all indexes for which they have performance data in 2017. Schools under this category can be recognized with three additional “distinction” designations:

1) TOP 25% STUDENT PROGRESS: Schools are compared with a group of 40 similar campuses on student progress in reading, math and writing as measured by STAAR.

2) ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN READING: Schools are compared with a group of 40 similar campuses on student progress
in reading and English. Elementary and middle schools that rank in the top 50% earn the reading distinction. High schools rank in the top 33% based on attendance rates, advanced level performance on STAAR reading and writing tests, ACT and SAT scores.

3) ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN MATH: Same calculations as for reading.

4) ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN SCIENCE: Same calculations as for reading.

IMPROVEMENT REQUIRED: Districts or campuses that did not meet one or more performance index targets.
